THE HOSPITAL SEARCHES FOR NEXT GENERATION OF HIP HOP TALENT

>"As part of the series of workshops and events to support Yes Yes Y’All,
>the exhibition that celebrates the first ten years of hip hop, The
>Hospital is set to host an open mic competition for up and coming hip
>hop talent from in and around London. With a top first prize of free
>studio time and a celebrity judge for the grand final, the competition
>is set to seek out the next generation of hip hop talent.

>Held over five Wednesday nights (10th Dec, 17th Dec, 7th Jan, 14th Jan
>and 21st Jan) from 7-9pm, entrants can either perform their own brand of
>hip hop acapella, over tunes provided by the resident DJ or a
>pre-arranged track of their own choice. They can even go up against
>another MC in a one on one battle.

>The best performers from every Wednesday night will be voted for by the
>audience and entered into the heats for the grand final.

>Held on the 21st January 2004, the top talent from each of the previous
>nights will compete for the first prize of free studio time at The
>Hospital to record a two-track demo CD of their own material. There
>will also be prizes for the runners up which include a top of the range
>radio mic and £100 worth of Skratch clothing."
